Sankashti Chaturthi Vrat Katha
Legend has it that once Lord Indra was returning from the home of Sage Brigru. On his way, he crossed a sinful kingdom. Due to the accumulation of sins in that land, Indra's brightness faded, and he lost his divine luster. Distressed, he sought guidance from Lord Brahma.
Lord Brahma advised Indra to observe the fast of Sankashti Chaturthi to regain his lost glory and cleanse the sins attached to him. Indra performed the rituals with devotion, fasted on the fourth day of the waning moon, and worshipped Lord Ganesha. As a result, his divine light was restored, and he overcame his obstacles. Since then, this Vrat has been observed to overcome difficulties.
