1. Information We Collect

1.1 Mobile App (Sankashti)

The Sankashti app does not require account registration and does not collect or transmit any personally identifiable information. All preferences are stored locally on your device:

• Timezone Preference: Your selected or auto-detected timezone, stored locally on your device — never sent anywhere.
• Notification Preferences: Which festival dates you have enabled or disabled for reminders, and your chosen reminder days/times — stored locally only.
• Custom Alerts: Any personal puja reminders you create — stored locally only.
• Daily Alarm Settings: Your morning alarm time and playlist selection — stored locally only.

The app makes a single network request to our API (myganapati.com/api) to fetch Sankashti Chaturthi dates and moonrise times for your city. This request includes only your selected city's geoname ID — no personal information is sent.

1.2 Website (myganapati.com)

Our website does not require login or registration. When you visit, our hosting server may automatically log standard technical information:

• Server Logs: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps — retained for up to 30 days for security, performance monitoring, and aggregate usage statistics.

Aggregate statistics mean counts only — how many requests a page received, or how many times a city's moonrise times were looked up. We do not build a profile of you, and IP addresses are never stored alongside those counts or used to identify you.

We do not use tracking pixels, third-party analytics, or advertising scripts on our website.

2. Local Notifications

The Sankashti app uses local notifications — these are scheduled entirely on your device by its operating system. No notification data passes through our servers. We do not use Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) or any push notification service. You can revoke notification permission at any time through your device settings.

3. YouTube Integration

The Darshan feature streams live temple darshan, and the Nitya feature plays devotional stotras, aartis, bhajans and films — both through the YouTube player embedded in the app, or by opening YouTube directly. When you play a video, YouTube's own privacy policy applies to that interaction. We do not collect or share any data related to your YouTube usage. Please review Google's Privacy Policy for details.

The Nitya catalogue itself is fetched from our own API as a plain list of videos. That request contains no personal information and does not tell us which video you chose to play.

4. How We Use Information

• Your city selection is used solely to fetch the correct moonrise times for your location.
• All other app data (notification settings, alarms, custom alerts) stays on your device and is used only to deliver the features you set up.
• Server logs are used for diagnosing technical issues, ensuring service reliability, and counting aggregate usage — never for profiling or advertising.

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any commercial purpose.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third party. The only external service the app communicates with is:

• myganapati.com API — our own server, to fetch festival dates and moonrise times. No personal data is sent.
• YouTube — when you play a devotional video, subject to Google's privacy policy.

6. Data Security

Since the app stores all user preferences locally on your device, your data is protected by your device's own security (screen lock, encryption). Our API is served over HTTPS. Server logs are accessible only to the system administrator and are not shared externally.

7. Data Deletion

Because we do not collect personal data, there is nothing for us to delete on our end. To remove all app data from your device:

• Go to your device settings and clear the app's data, or
• Uninstall the app — this removes all locally stored preferences and scheduled notifications.

8. Children's Privacy

Our app and website are suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children or adults. No account creation or personal details are required to use the app.

9. Changes to This Policy

If we make any changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's store listing. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
